Christian Dior: the story in seven volumes
Christian Dior is celebrating its 70th anniversary by publishing a superb seven-volume anthology, each book dedicated to one of the seven couturiers who have been in charge of design at the Parisian luxury label since its creation in 1947: Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri.

The collection will be issued in 2017 and 2018 by publisher Assouline. The first volume features over 500 pages and is entitled 'Dior by Christian Dior 1947-1957'. It will be available from December in French, English and Chinese.
The volume is lavishly illustrated with pictures by Laziz Hamani, and contains a selection of Christian Dior's most important haute couture creations. The text by fashion historian Olivier Saillard tells the story of the eighty items chosen, including the renowned 'Bar' two-piece suite designed in 1947.
The fashion label said in a press release that Olivier Saillard’s text also analyses "Christian Dior's sources of inspiration, influences and visions."
