Christie's LA flagship opens this week: focus on jewelry, watches and art

Christie's has announced the opening of its new West Coast flagship in Beverly Hills with a week long exhibit of luxury jewelry, watches and fine art.

April 20-28 marks the grand opening celebration of Christie's LA flagship at 336 North Camden Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

Sonya Roth, Managing Director of Christie’s LA said, “This is Christie’s moment to shine in LA and we are delighted to have assembled such a stellar exhibition of fine art, jewelry, watches and private sale items to celebrate our grand opening in Beverly Hills."

She explained the significance of the opening exhibit, "Our goal over these next few weeks is to welcome in both new and established collectors to acquaint themselves with all that Christie’s has to offer the LA community -- whether it is expertise, education, or simply engagement with the beautiful objects Christie’s has been entrusted with. This first exhibition is just the start of a dynamic program to come, and we look forward to officially embarking on this exciting next chapter in the growth of Christie’s on the West Coast.”

Christie's has been keeping a keen eye on West Coast business, with most of its sales coming from its locations in China and San Francisco. The LA location takes up 5,400 square feet over two levels. It was completely renovated and restructured from the former Theodore Beverly Hills retail clothing business that used to be there.

To make the space its own, Christie's worked with wHY, the design team known for its work on LACMA, CalArts and the Marciano Art Foundation. The new Christie's space includes a 1,400 square foot terrace of greenery that can double as an event space.

Christie's has operated an LA office since 1978. New York will continue to serve as the auction saleroom for the Americas.
