Air Canada unveiled on Friday new uniforms for its employees designed by Canadian menswear designer Christopher Bates.

The new uniforms are charcoal grey and black, and feature red accents and accessories by Bates. The uniforms designed for in-flight and airport agents, pilots, mechanics, and other workers are described as “combining urban chic and international flair”.

The new uniforms are a part of a brand revamp launched by the Canadian airline. Its new livery and rebranding was inspired by Canada, and includes a modernized image, new employee uniforms, improved cabin product and more.

"On the occasion of Canada's 150th anniversary year, with our new livery, new uniforms for our employees, the award-winning international cabin standard introduced with the launch of our Boeing 787 aircraft, and enhanced onboard offerings, the future Air Canada represents the strength of our nation and the future-looking spirit of our airline,” says Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines at an unveiling event in Toronto.

This is not the first time Bates has teamed up with a Canadian company. Most recently, he also partnered with Canadian retailer Harry Rosen on a footwear collection.
