Circular fashion: Kate Moss and Naomie Harris to sell fashion items for charity

Kate Moss, Naomie Harris, Carey Mulligan and Chloë Sevigny are among the celebrities taking part in Oxfam's "Second Hand September" initiative, in partnership with resale website Vestiaire Collective. The stars have donated garments that they have worn during red carpet events or in the front row at fashion shows. These items will be auctioned off on the second-hand luxury resale platform with proceeds going to a good cause.

Have you heard about "#SecondHandSeptember"? It's a social media challenge launched by Oxfam that encourages consumers to stop buying new clothes and turn to second-hand garments, at least for a month.

Now resale website Vestiaire Collective is getting in on the month, renewing its support for the Oxfam NGO with its own special charity sale.

Front row at the fashion shows means celebrities. And while the current fashion week season has to contend with covid-19 restrictions, this operation will allow fashionistas to buy front row garments without leaving the comfort of their homes.

An Yves Saint Laurent blazer modeled by Kate Moss, a yellow Isabel Marant jumpsuit offered by Thandie Newton, a Miu Miu skirt worn by Naomie Harris, and a Burberry trench coat donated by Michaela Coel: these are a few of the secondhand garments offered on Vestiaire Collective for a fair price.

"While the pandemic has brought suffering and loss to many, it has also provided opportunities to break old habits and build a fairer and more sustainable future," Fee Gilfeather, Oxfam's sustainability expert, told Harper's Bazaar.

All proceeds will help finance several Oxfam endeavors to reduce poverty worldwide.
