Coach, the original American house of leather, has teamed up with cult Japanese streetwear label Bape for a limited-edition apparel and accessories collection bringing together the two brands’ signature styles for a colorful urban fusion.

The collection, which aims to channel the unique atmospheres of the brand’s hometowns, New York and Tokyo, includes outerwear, ready-to-wear apparel, footwear and leather goods.

The color palette ranges from khaki and camouflage to rainbow jacquard, and the brands have made a unique mash-up of the Coach Signature pattern spliced with the Bape Ape Head logo especially for the collection.

Stand-out pieces include a leather puffa jacket, Bapesta sneakers and Coach Academy backpacks, all featuring the remixed Signature pattern. Other items include t-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps, fanny packs and tote bags.

T-shirts commemorating the collaboration will also be available in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris and London, with each city boasting its own exclusive color.

Shot by New York-based photographer Quil Lemons, the collection’s lookbook features Japanese model and songwriter Kōki and American actor and singer Quincy Brown, photographed in Tokyo’s Ebisu district and Williamsburg, Brooklyn, respectively.

The collection’s release has also been accompanied by a campaign fronted by Coach global menswear ambassador Michael B. Jordon, who worked on a Naruto-inspired collection with the American brand at the end of last year.

The collaboration is the latest in a long line of creative partnerships undertaken by Bape, which has previously teamed up with Montblanc, Adidas, Dr. Martens and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Bape x Coach collection is available now on the two brands’ e-commerce sites, as well as in certain of their stores.
