Cupcakes and Cashmere to launch clothing line this summer
Emily Schuman, the voice and face of the blog Cupcakes and Cashmere, announced via her blog that she will launch a clothing line named after her website this summer.
Schuman shared photos previewing her forty-piece collection that is inspired by three cities in her home state of California: Los Angeles, San Francisco and Malibu. Each city captures a theme in the collection—Los Angeles has an edgy, urban vibe, San Francisco gives a preppy and polished look and energy, and Malibu is relaxed and trendy.
The collection will be available in three deliveries with the first being San Francisco-themed, followed by Los Angeles then Malibu. Pieces like a fisherman sweater with a distressed spine, leather jackets available in vegan options, a striped shift dress with a pocket, red, white and blue lace button tops, a floral print dress, and a lace skirt with scalloped edge will range in price between $80 and $180, except for the leather jacket with a price that wasn’t named.
Schuman revealed that she has been working on the collection for the past 18 months and will finally launch the line with the FW15 collection on July 6th exclusively at Nordstrom and ShopBop.
Cupcakes and Cashmere launched in 2008 as a way for Schuman to document the things she holds dear. Prior to launching the blog, Schuman worked at Conde Nast Publications, Domino and Teen Vogue. In 2012, she released the book, Cupcakes and Cashmere: A guide for defining your style, reinventing your space and entertaining with ease, that went on to become a national bestseller.
Schuman has collaborated with brands in the past including Club Monaco, Coach, and Birchbox.
