Danish label Samsoe & Samsoe to open Paris store in September
Samsoe & Samsoe is setting up shop in Paris. The Danish label is opening its first store in France on rue Saint-Sulpice, in the Saint-Germain-des-Près district of the French capital, at the end of September.
The 100 m2 store will be inaugurated on September 25, but the date of its opening to the public hasn’t been fixed yet. The Danish label tested the water in 2017, opening two shop-in-shops at Printemps Haussmann, for menswear and womenswear, before opening a mixed-gender pop-up store at l’Exception last April.
Samsoe & Samsoe is distributed via 150 retailers in France, but it is still relatively little-known in the country. The label was founded in 1993 as a jewellery brand by the brothers Klaus and Preben Samsoe, and turned into a global brand when it was bought by Peter Sextus and Per Ulrik in 2000. Its growth since then is a genuine success story. Spearheading the Scandinavian trend combining colours and design, Samsoe & Samsoe is based on three fundamental principles: simplicity, durability and quality.
Samsoe & Samsoe is based in Copenhagen and already operates about forty monobrand stores: the majority are located in Denmark, and the rest across Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Belgium and the UK. The label's London shop opened in mid-July, while a new store is set to open in Brussels on September 10. Between the European, Asian and American markets, Samsoe & Samsoe’s collections are distributed via 2,000 retailers in some 20 countries.
