"DC’s brand momentum is building speed and we are committed to fortifying our global business by investing in top talent,” said Mike Jensen, DC Shoes, Inc.’s global GM, commenting on the appointment in a release.

Long was a global merchandising director for DC Shoes earlier in his career and brings 15 years of product development and management experience to his role as VP.

Previously he was VP of product at Mitchell & Ness, where he drove brand vision with marketing for the nostalgia-fueled company, which has multiple licenses for authentic professional sports league product. Prior to Mitchell & Ness, Long was the global GM and senior brand manager at Asics.

Long also held senior product positions at both DC Shoes and Supra. He gained early experience at Converse and Airwalk, and started his career as an intern with Adidas.

The industry veteran said he is excited to rejoin DC and "continue to transform and disrupt the rapidly evolving marketplace."

Long will work out of DC's headquarters in Huntington Beach, CA and will report to DC Global General Manager and Head of Brand, Mike Jensen. His appointment is effective immediately.
