Destination Maternity adds new finance expert to board
Maternity apparel retailer Destination Maternity Corporation has named Greg Kleffner to its board of directors, effective March 29.
With over 17 years of public company leadership experience following a 25-year career with accounting firm Arthur Andersen, Kleffner now serves as a member of the Destination Maternity’s audit and compensation committees, according to a press release.
Between 2009 and 2019, Kleffner served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer of apparel retailer Stein Mart, where he was responsible for financial management, treasury, investor relations, credit card operations, internal audit, stores audit and asset protection. Prior to Stein Mart, Kleffner spent six years at Kellwood Company in a variety of finance roles, including chief financial officer. During his tenure, Kleffner led the women's apparel and soft goods company through a strategic restructuring.
“[Kleffner] brings with him a wealth of financial expertise and his extensive public company experience within the apparel industry will be incredibly helpful as the company continues to execute on its strategic growth initiatives," said Anne-Charlotte Windal, Destination Maternity’s independent chair of the board. "We are confident that he will add great value to our board of directors and that the company will benefit from his insights, judgment and counsel."
Additionally, board member Andrea J. Funk has resigned to pursue other interests, while new board member Lisa Gavales has been named chairman of the firm’s nominating and corporate governance committee.
The latest changes to the Destination Maternity board follow the company's recent appointment of its new CFO and first-ever chief transformation officer, as it continues to pursue its multi-year strategic plan.
