At the end of last week, trade show organiser Première Vision finally staged a physical event again, bringing together some 190 exhibitors the Grand Palais Éphémère, a temporary event venue in Paris. But the French organiser, a specialist in trade events for the textile and apparel industry, is still going digital with its other shows.

Scheduled until July 9, Digital Denim Week is going ahead exclusively online. Major international meetings are still difficult to organise, notably for a sector whose professionals come from countries like Italy, Turkey, Spain, Pakistan, India, Tunisia, China, Bangladesh, the UAE, etc.

Digital Denim Week kicked off its second edition on Monday, featuring an online marketplace showcasing the latest in terms of denim industry trends, products and materials for the Fall/Winter 2022-23 season.

The digital event's first edition notably attracted more than 5,000 online visitors, with approximately 1,500 people attending the event's conferences.

With this second edition, Denim Première Vision is keen to promote interaction between exhibitors and buyers, notably thanks to comprehensive online company profiles and lively product presentations, and boosting the conversation through live online debates.

Digital Denim Week's schedule is full of highlights, starting on July 6 at 11 am CET and July 8 at 2 pm CET with the fashion seminars by Première Vision’s design team, presented by Manon Mangin. They are followed by two panel discussions that aim to unpick the evolution and changes the sector has undergone in the last 18 months. On Wednesday at 2 pm CET, at the ‘Filière Mode, et après?’ conference, Carlo Capasa, president of CNMI (the Italian Fashion Chamber) and Pascal Morand, executive president of the French Fashion and Haute Couture Federation, will discuss the new industry values that are emerging, key among them health and well-being, ethics, corporate transparency and environmental impact reduction.

On July 8 at 11 am CET, Giusy Bettoni, CEO and founder of eco-fashion hub CLASS (Creativity lifestyle and sustainable synergy), and Sébastien Thevoux-Chabuel, ESG analyst at asset management firm Comgest, will analyse the new musts in sustainability, and how businesses are influenced by them.

An approach that Fabio Adami Dalla Val, show manager of Digital Denim Week, thinks is essential in shaping the sector's activity in the years to come.

“This is a historic time. Like any period of upheaval, it gives us a chance to reflect on our values and reinvent ourselves. It’s already offering our industry new opportunities, though we might not yet be fully aware of them, or able to identify them,” said Adami Dalla Val in a press release. “It’s rare to be given the opportunity to experience such watershed moments, and not every past generation has had such a chance. In October, we will finally have the chance to meet again. We’re so impatient for that moment - it will surely be a joyful celebration!” he added.

Denim Première Vision will stage its next physical edition at Superstudio Più in Milan on October 13-14 2021. The following session will be held in Berlin, on May 17-18 2022, at the Arena Berlin venue.
