Dr Martens reveals first Rick Owens collab design

Dr Martens has unveiled its collaboration with Rick Owens that launches on March 20. The recently-listed footwear specialist is on a roll at present with sales and profits figures that saw its shares rising fast after its IPO.

Now it has linked up with the designer to create a new version of the Dr Martens 1460 Bex platform boot, retailing at £299. There will be a second Dr Martens drop in May. This follows Owens launching a Converse collab earlier this year. He's also previously worked with Birkenstock and Veja.

The most distinctive feature of the reimagined boot is the unmissable lacing that’s closely associated with Owens’ designs. It also shows his “enthusiasm for dark-glam drapery and polished brutalism,” we’re told.

The company said: “Fusing Owens’ dark, underground aesthetic with a classic DM’s silhouette, this collaboration is loud with both brand’s philosophy for championing the alternative.” It added that it’s the firm’s “boldest collaboration to date”.
