Drake’s this week opened its first-ever US store in New York City at 120 Prince Street in SoHo. The store is slated to be open for at least six months.
Creative Director Michael Hill told the press that he decided to open a shop in New York City after noticing that many of Drake’s orders are sent to New York City. The 400-square-foot temporary store offers Drake’s full menswear line as well as its very popular accessories line and a line of selvedge denim and dress trousers.
The interior retains the space’s original ceiling and floors and features an antique table and modular shelving. In addition, artwork by Sebastiaan Bremer and Martin Wilner from the Hales Gallery in East London line the store.
Founded in 1977 by Michael Drake, Drake’s is a London-based accessories brand turned luxury menswear label. The label launched offering ties, handkerchiefs, and scarves before venturing into shirting, knitwear, outerwear and sports coats.
Drake’s currently operates a flagship store on Clifford Street in London and another store on Haberdasher Street in London.
