E-commerce Europe: call for applications for cross-border award

The European online sales association is calling for applications for the 2015 Cross-border E-commerce Award. The award will be presented by one of its members: the Dutch e-commerce association Thuiswinkel.

Underscoring the importance of the award, the 2015 winner will automatically be nominated for the European E-commerce Pure Player Award. This award will be presented at the Global Ecommerce Summit to be held in Barcelona from June 8-10. 

The call for applications is not without wider significance. E-commerce Europe is pushing European authorities to facilitate cross-border sales to the benefit of a healthier European Union. 

E-commerce Europe includes 25,000 European companies that sell products and/or services online. The industry generates more than two million direct and indirect jobs across the continent. Europe includes 264 million online shoppers, generating a combined turnover of 363.1 billion euros
