Ebay launches new brand platform for luxury resale

Ebay announced on Thursday the launch of a new brand platform, where it will partner directly with brands to scale their resale efforts and provide shoppers with exclusive luxury goods.

Dubbed 'Certified by Brand', the program offers new, certified pre-owned, limited-edition or exclusive 'only on Ebay' inventory from top brands like Konstantin Chaykin, Zodiac Watches and Le Vian. The program spans watches, handbags, and fine jewelry.

Brands on Ebay's Certified by Brand program benefit from access to both the platform's 133 million active buyers, and consumer insights from Ebay's global network of buyers. Likewise, inventory is brand-backed and all watch brands come with a minimum one year warranty, while jewelry and handbag items include a certificate of authenticity with purchase.

The program follows the launch of Authenticity Guarantee in the U.S. market in 2020, which currently includes sneakers, handbags, watches, jewelry, and trading cards. Certified by Brand signals Ebay's continued dedication to bolster confidence in Ebay's shopping experience for high-passion and high value-products for brands, retailers and buyers alike.
