Ermenegildo Zegna comes to West 57th Street

Italian luxury men’s label Ermenegildo Zegna has opened its newest flagship in New York on West 57th Street inside the historic Crown Building, as its Fifth Avenue store sets itself up to close by the end of this month.

As reported by WWD, the 7,128-square-foot store was designed in partnership with architect Peter Marino, a longtime partner of the brand, and features an exterior of metallic strings and glass and an interior decorated with vintage furniture and art.

An “innovative installation” will present products inside the store and will change throughout the year. The ground floor is be dedicated to leather goods, shoes, the sartoria, luxury leisurewear, couture and a personalization room with a master tailor for bespoke clothing, while the mezzanine displays the label’s couture collection, including pieces from the XXX project and its sneaker collection.

The third floor houses brand-relevant artworks, including artist Emil Lukas’s 2012 Zegna Liquid Touch work, consisting of silk thread over a painted wooden frame with nails, as well as a black-and-white photography composite by Giovanni Caccamo.

The label is also introducing a Taccuino capsule of luxury leisurewear inspired by the notebook of the label’s namesake founder exclusively at the flagship.

Currently, Ermenegildo Zegna operates 19 stores and seven outlets throughout the United States, including a boutique in Brookfield Place that will remain open.

With this newest addition, 57th Street is quickly setting itself up to be New York City’s newest luxury shopping strip as Zegna joins other future neighbors like David Yurman, as well as current tenants on the street such as Nordstrom’s first men’s flagship, Chanel and Richard Mille.
