In a statement in the Brazilian newspaper Valor, president of the governing body William Lauder has revealed his intentions to make Brazil one of the key markets for the company’s premium cosmetics and luxury brands. “Brazil is one of the most important markets for us in the future,” the executive told the media, and added that “the country has one of the highest rates of per capita consumption of beauty products.”

Estée Lauder outlines its future plans in Brasil

Estée Lauder has ascertained that the Brazilian market is currently dominated by sales of beauty products in mainstream networks, which according to the American company, leaves a lot of room to grow for premium products.

With regards to the company's position in Brazil, William Lauder stated, “we are well established in Brazil. I’ve made various trips to the country, we compete with important Brazilian brands and we think that in the long term this is a market where we’re going to expand considerably.”

In its annual report covering business during 2016, the Estée Lauder Group said that its results in the Brazilian market were affected by the country’s economic crisis and the devaluation of the Brazilian real.
