In June, Etudes Studio presented its 11th fashion show on the rooftops of Paris and took the opportunity to launch its new line of glasses. Led by the design-trio Aurélien Arbet, Jeremie Egry, José Lamali, the Paris-based brand has embarked on this new adventure after several fruitful collaborations, including with the brand Retrosuperfuture.

“We were looking for more experience, the stage of creation, which consists of imagining new shapes and new models that really represent us,” said Aurélien Arbet. “Always with the same idea of bringing a new idea into a timeless silhouette.”

The glasses feature minimal structures, metalwork, and a nod to some brand signatures such as the carnation on the temples of the glasses which is the same as the brand uses on its sweaters and pants. The brand’s “é” logo also features and Etudes Studio’s first glasses launch shows the values of the band and presents a collection with a wearable and unisex spirit.

The line is designed in Paris and produced and distributed by Peter & May (founded by Laura Le Bihan and Xavier Matrand), which also produces eyewear for Jacquemus. The Etudes Studio eyewear line is made in China.

The eyewear line retails from Etudes Studio’s store on Rue Belleyme in Paris’ third arrondissement and its counter in Galeries Lafayette as well as in around half of brand’s global resellers. It is also available across Peter & May’s network of opticians with exclusive rights given to Marc Le Bihan stores for the first few weeks of the launch. The brand will also take part in the upcoming Silmo trade show which will run from September 27 to 30 at Paris’ Nord-Villepinte.

“Our aim is to bring a more fashionable vision to opticians,” said Arbet. “This is what we reflected in our collection which includes models sold with a separate chain which can be clipped on to the frames.”

The brand’s glasses retail for €255 ($281.19) a pair and each model is limited to 300 models which gives the line an accessible creative positioning. New models will be released after the brand’s January 2020 runway show and will focus on acetate.

Etudes Studio was launched in 2012 and generates over €3 million in sales. The brand retails through its dedicated e-commerce shop and across 120 multi-brand outlets across the world.
