Farfetch has unveiled the new Church’s x Off-white capsule footwear collection that was designed by the late Virgil Abloh. It made its public debut on the runway of the Off-White “Spaceship Earth: an Imaginary Experience” show during Paris Fashion Week and is now available to buy.

Church's x Off-White

The genderless collection is an undeniably interesting link-up between Off-White that's known for its offbeat approach to fashion, and Prada-owned Church’s that's known for its traditional outlook.

The pieces combine Off-White’s “seditious nature” and “the progressive ethos central to Virgil Abloh’s ‘Question Everything’ philosophy” with the “artisan tradition and stylistic history of the British footwear brand”.

It showcases Abloh’s “obsession with reinterpreting classic designs using new references that provide them with an entirely new context, without altering their true nature”.

The focus is on Church’s Burwood shoe that dates back to 1953. It’s a classic full brogue oxford with dovetail patterning that emerges here with a new, contemporary identity. Black brushed calfskin replaces the shoe’s conventionally brown suede upper, and ‘Special Events' (screen-printed in white in Off-White’s signature script) adorns the outside of the shoe. A trademark Off-White hangtag “underscores the style’s shared origins”.

The shoes are available on both the Church’s webstore and on Farfetch.
