Fast Retailing's New York GU pop-up to debut next month
Fast Retailing has announced more details of its debut into the US market for its GU brand with the planned pop-up in SoHo, New York, set to open at 10am on Friday, 7 October.
With its brand theme Tokyo to SoHo, GU “aims to be a store that is loved by and grows together with the city's SoHo neighborhood, which welcomes people of diverse cultures, values, and lifestyles”.
Osamu Yunoki, CEO of GU, said: “New York City is a hub for fashion brands from all over the world, and we are confident in the trendiness and appeal of GU products. We are eager to showcase our superior customer service to all visitors, whether they are New York locals or those coming from abroad.”
The company’s “unique and popular” GU Osharista style advisors will be in-store too.
Its debut is being accompanied as of now by an official GU website and social media accounts for the US to introduce its 2022 Fall/Winter collection.
The product offer includes a “specially selected” assortment of pieces, including sweaters, hoodies and padded jackets retailing from $29.90 up to $59.90.
Fast Retailing will also launch some opening promotions with the first 200 customers on the first day of the store (who follow GU on social media) set to receive a one-off item that isn’t on general sale. The first 3,000 customers to buy at least one item can also receive a free GU Tote Bag by following GU on social media.
And there’ll be a four-day in-store Lucky Lottery Event, with no purchase necessary to enter, while certain popular items will be available at a special sale price.
