Wednesday evening feted the opening of Fendi’s Parisian flagship located just net door to Saint Laurent’s latest store on Avenue Montaigne. In tandem with the event, a photography exhibition opened in the city celebrating Rome’s Trevi fountain, the current restoration of which is being financed by Fendi.
Entitled ‘The Glory of Water,’ the high-tech exhibition features images shot by Karl Largerfeld - who has worked with the Italian fashion house since 1965 – projected inside a futuristic domed structure along the banks of the Seine. The exhibition will run through until 14 July.
Guests at the opening uncovered the brand’s new ultra-modern interior, which heavily features mahogany and golden accents. The 600m² space is scattered with artwork including an impressive sculpture by Tony Cragg.
A section of the store has been dedicated to the brand’s handbags with the popular ‘baguette’ model taking center stage as part of an art installation (see photo). The ground floor boasts a ‘made-to-order’ area where customers can have their bags personalized and the first floor is home to the label’s fur items.
