With the United States presidential elections approaching in November, Foot Locker has converted its U.S. stores into temporary voter registration sites.

Launched in partnership with Rock the Vote on September 22 -- the National Voter Registration Day -- the initiative has placed voter registration centers inside the company's over 2,000 store locations, including Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Footcation locations.

Inside each store, customers will be able to use a kiosk connected to a special website that allows users to check their voter status, register to vote and sign up for election reminders.

"In a year marked with such uncertainty, amid a pandemic and social unrest, our country's future – and our collective role in shaping it – has never been more important," said Richard Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of Foot Locker.

"At Foot Locker, our mission is to inspire and empower youth culture, so partnering with Rock The Vote was a natural fit to help educate and amplify the voices of today's youth."

The company said it will also support its over 30,000 U.S. employees by providing worktime flexibility and additional resources to help give corporate and store team members the opportunity to vote on Election Day.

"Now, more than ever, we are committed to uplifting and empowering our team by offering flexible voting hours and resources to encourage them to exercise their right to vote, and together, make a significant impact at the polls," said Frank Bracken, executive vice president and CEO of Foot Locker North America.
