Foot Locker and Nike celebrate basketball season with NBA pop-up shop

In honor of the NBA regular season opening on October 16, Foot Locker and Nike have partnered for a basketball-themed pop-up shop and interactive scavenger hunt under Foot Locker's House of Hoops brand.

The HOH Courtside pop-up will travel around the country and periodically open in U.S. cities at key moments during the basketball season. The pop-up shop made its debut in Los Angeles at the end of last month, as LeBron James played his first game as an LA Laker.

The two companies said the basketball fan shop will feature a "Makers" customization space and regularly offer access to exclusive footwear launches, as well as product lines like Nike Basketball, Jordan, Nike Sportswear and NBA licensed apparel.

The HOH Courtside model will also be featured in 185 House of Hoops brick-and-mortar locations around the country.

To further promote House of Hoops, Foot Locker added The Hunt, an augmented reality scavenger hunt designed by Firstborn, to its iOS-only mobile app.

Launching on October 20, basketball fans used the program to compete for a pair of limited edition LeBron 16 King "Court Purple" sneakers. The winning players used the Footlocker app "to unlock geo-targeted AR clues throughout the city that [led] them to the coveted limited-edition kicks."

"Foot Locker has always looked for new ways to elevate the shopping experience for our customers," said Frank Bracken, vice president and general manager of Foot Locker, U.S., in a press release.

"It was a natural evolution to embrace AR...There's no better place to launch this exciting technology than in Los Angeles with this special edition of the LeBron 16."

Additional information and updates on the House of Hoops offerings will be announced on the brand's Instagram account.
