Former Forever 21 plus size head launches RWN by Rawan, plus-size lifestyle denim brand

The former head of the plus size division at Forever 21, Rawan Ghawi, has launched a new plus-size lifestyle brand RWN by Rawan, offering women elevated denim pieces in sizes 10-32 and retailing for under $100.

The new RWN by Rawan collection is available online through partnerships with subscription styling services Stitch Fix Plus and Dia & Co. It is also available direct to consumer through its new branded ecommerce site.

Founder Ghawi brings over a decade of industry experience, specifically driving the business and marketing for Forever21's global plus size business for seven years.

"Ghawi was a key figure in growing Forever 21's plus size division," said Alex Ok, President of Forever 21.

Prior to Forever21, Ghawi was one of the first buyers for plus size retail chain Torrid. She also spent time at Abercrombie & Fitch and Wet Seal before plus-size became such a lucrative demographic to pursue.

Most recently plus-size fashion was valued to be a $17 billion dollar industry. Still, there are few key players relative to the overall worth of the industry.

She said of her inspiration, "With retailers expanding into the plus size space, I still couldn't find a brand that had the perfect recipe of styling, fit, and quality. I created the line because I wanted to shop for on-trend, well-constructed, quality pieces I could invest a little more in. I took everything that was missing in the marketplace and put it into this line."

The RWN by Rawan launch collection is available now. It offers price points under $100 and includes jeans, denim jackets and shirts, military and cargo jackets, dresses and boho tops in sizes 10-32.
