Forrester research predicts US online retail sales to hit $334 billion

Published
Apr 29, 2015

Forrester research last week predicted that online retail sales in the United States will hit $334 billion this year, which is approximately 10% of all sales in the US.

E-commerce is expected to experience a strong compound annual growth rate (CAGR - a geometric progression ratio that provides a constant rate of return over a given time period) of 10% until 2019. The growth rate is expected to translate to $480 billion in online sales by 2019. Physical goods lead the growth in eCommerce as digital goods reach maturity.

The report follows the recent Criteo mobile commerce report that showed an increase of e-commerce purchases via mobile devices, and the Euromonitor International report on the increase in menswear sales.
