Fossil chooses Safilo for global distribution

Premium Italian eyewear group Safilo and lifestyle company Fossil have announced the renewal of their licensing agreement for the design, manufacturing and distribution of Fossil eyewear. Added under the license this time around is the brand’s line of sunglasses.

The agreement will run until December 31 2018 and has been extended to cover global distribution, previously dealing exclusively with the U.S. and Canada.

"Fossil is an extraordinary partner and we are very satisfied with the results we have achieved in North America over the past few years," said Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of Safilo Group. "With the aim to further reinforce their collaboration in order to achieve faster growth in the eyewear category we believe there are important opportunities for development, particularly in EMEA and Latin America, but also in Asia where the brand is already successful."

Safilo has an international presence with 30 susidiaries across the world and has licensing deals with brands such as Céline, Dior, Jimmy Choo and Marc Jacobs.
