The 4,000-square-foot store will be situated adjacent to the Malibu Country Mart in a spot formerly occupied by Malibu Cinemas, and is set to open its doors on April 6, according to local media reports.

Inside, visiting shoppers will find a variety of women’s apparel, accessories, jewelry and gifts curated by Maris Collective, which operates at the Fred Segal women's store on Sunset Boulevard, as well as a curated range of menswear, a sneaker shop and a separate beauty shop.

The new store marks a special reunion between Fred Segal and Malibu: historically, the brand first made its way to the coastal city when Fred Segal himself opened a boutique in what is now the Malibu Country Mart in 1975.

As part of the modern Malibu Village complex, the boutique will be neighbored by brands like Lululemon, Zadig & Voltaire and Sephora.

Currently owned by Sandow and majority stakeholder Evolution Media Capital, Fred Segal has recently been expanding its brick-and-mortar presence with a series of new stores. This included opening its Sunset Boulevard location, a store in Tokyo and a spot inside the Los Angeles International Airport all within the past six years.

Currently, the brand operates additional stores in Zurich, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur.
