Celebrity hairstylist Matthew Preece, owner of Fred Segal Salon, has received the first ever investment for his new self-named flagship hair salon from a direct response marketing company.

The investor is Greg Renker who is the co-founder of Guthy-Renker. The investment is early in the evolution of the Matthew Preece Flagship, seeing that the salon only reopened its doors last month from the old Fred Segal Salon.

Renker will become a part owner in the salon and will help Preece grow his personal brand as well as develop the salon's brand presence.

"Matthew has an undeniable talent and drive to succeed, and I have had the good fortune of watching his skills develop over the past two decades," explained Greg Renker.

Renker said, "With his abilities, the decision to invest in his salon was a natural one. We are eagerly looking forward to playing a role in growing and expanding the Matthew Preece brand."

Preece met Renker 15 years ago through a mutual client.

"Greg has so much to bring to the salon beyond the investment,"  Preece said.

Preece explained, "His business savvy, creative genius and decades of experience will be invaluable assets to us as we continue to grow our salon and look at business expansion opportunities."

Preece takes a holistic approach to hair styling that stems from his longtime yoga practice and time as an instructor too. He has gained many celebrity clients including Gerard Butler, Kate Hudson, Sandra Bullock, Anthony Keidis, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Alba, Selena Gomez, Robert Downey Jr., and Gigi Hadid.

His team also styles the models on America's Next Top Model.
