French lingerie brand chooses New York for first flagship

Although it has more than 40 sales points in 25 countries across 5 continents, French lingerie brand Maison Close has never had its own store. That is about to change. At the end of the month it will open its first flagship, in New York’s SoHo neighborhood.

“Our renown crossed beyond France’s borders a long time ago. The opening of this licentious but cozy store is the answer to our desire to offer an exceptional Maison Close,” explains its founder and creative director Monsieur le Français, also known as Nicolas Busnel.

Located at 32 Grand Street, it will feature all twelve of the brand’s collections in their entirety. The decor will be private parlor meets boudoir with beautiful showcases, all of it offering a subdued plush atmosphere.

Worthy then of carrying the new “private” line to be released in 2016. Not only will it be possible to order original and made-to-measure pieces, it will also be possible to reserve the entire store for an extremely private shopping experience. And, private sales will be held based on sample sales, available exclusively at the New York store.

Launched in 2006 by Monsieur le Français, the brand quickly took off and has a loyal following. In 2013 it was named the "Boudoir Brand of the Year" at the UK Lingerie Awards, and this year it was named the Seduction Brand of the Year at the French Lingerie Awards.

Villa Satine Collection - Maison Close


Known for, among other things, its original cuts, its triangle-cut bras in particular, fine and noble fabrics and overall sexiness, the collections are erotic but classy, naughty but nice. Monsieur le Français steps away from conventional lingerie to give women a voice through what they’re wearing underneath.

“My ultimate goal in creating lingerie and so many different collections comes from wanting to glorify women, to make them free, incandescent, and effervescent. I love women for their attitude. It’s a constant emotion to imagine what they may choose to wear under their clothes depending on their mood or how they feel about themselves that day,” the designer stated.
