The 1,495-square-foot store, set to open at Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Center this October, will house Furla’s assortment of women's small leather goods, shoes, sunglasses and scarves that typically range between $98 and $548.

The store was designed with a minimalist and sophisticated concept reflecting Furla's values of combining authentic Italian heritage with contemporary design.

This new location comes after seeing high activity from the area online.

"We have seen high traffic on our e-commerce site from Toronto-based customers and have identified this Canadian region as an opportunity for growth," said Alberto Camerlengo, Furla's CEO, in a news statement.

"We are excited to enter this specific market through such an established shopping center and offer shoppers the full brand experience in our store."

The opening also aligns with the brands global expansion strategy the company said, which most recently included the opening of a new boutique at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, earlier this year, following the opening of a new store on the East Coast in Miami.

The Canadian flagship will open in Yorkdale’s luxury wing where many first-to-market luxury retailers have chosen to settle.

Earlier this year, it was Italian luxury brand Valentino who inaugurated its first standalone store in Canada in Toronto’s Yorkdale, joining the likes of Bottega Veneta and Van Cleef & Arpels, who have also chosen to enter Canada through the high-traffic shopping center.

Meanwhile, consumers will be able to discover the latest from Furla on their Canadian website as of next month and will be able to shop directly through e-commerce as of January 2020.

The family-owned business, founded in 1927, currently operates stores around the world, including brick-and-mortar locations in Rome, Milan, Paris and London. Its network reaches over 1600 points of sales worldwide.
