LA based GUESS just released its first corporate sustainability report, and announced it will no longer use controversial angora rabbit fur in any of its products.

Angora rabbit fur in fashion came under fire starting in 2013 when PETA Asia went undercover and shot a video revealing how horribly the rabbits were treated for their furs, with workers literally ripping the furs off of the rabbits while they were still alive and screaming in pain.

Consumers were revolted by the expose, and through social media managed to change the course of the industry and lead companies towards no longer using angora fibers.

GUESS CEO Victor Herrero stated, "while in the past, GUESS has worked to ensure the minimal amount of angora used was ethically sourced, we feel the decision to eliminate angora moving forward is just the right thing to do."

GUESS joins a list of 100 major brands and global companies who have already pledged to not use angora. Labels on PETA's list include ASOS, Topshop, Gap, Zara, H&M, bebe, Adidas and Puma.
