Following the Canadian e-commerce platform launching earlier this week, Gap Inc. now announces the kick-off of its dedicated European e-commerce site for its brands Gap and Banana Republic.

Stephen Sunnucks, President, Gap Inc. Europe, commented: “We established a local distribution center to enable us to offer an exceptional customer experience within the UK.”

In Fall the sites will hit nine more European countries; Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Republic of Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.

So, during the second quarter of 2010, the company has expanded its e-commerce reach from one country to 55 through international shipping and expects to total 80 countries by the end of the year, including China, Italy and Australia.
