Gap Inc to sponsor Graduate Fashion Week’s International Fashion Award

Published
Apr 26, 2019

Gap Inc is has expanded its collaboration with Graduate Fashion Week by sponsoring the International Fashion Award and bringing in a recruitment team that will be looking to hire for roles in the US.

Graduate Fashion Week

The International Fashion Award will be one of several prizes up for grabs at the upcoming Graduate Fashion Week in June. It started with four universities six years ago, and this year’s edition will be open to students from 40 international universities including The Parsons School of Design in New York, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in China, Osaka Institute of Fashion in Japan and AOD Sri Lanka.

The winner of the International Fashion Award will receive a prize of £1,000, alongside the opportunity to showcase for free at London Fashion Week in the Spring Summer 2020 under Fashion Scout.

“We thank Gap Inc. for their support, assisting GFW to bring together graduates from all over the world. This showcase unites international graduates allowing them to explore their cultural diversity through the medium of fashion,” commented Adrien Yakimov Roberts, international trustee at Graduate Fashion Week.

“We are delighted that Gap Inc. will sponsor the International Fashion Award Catwalk show,” added Martyn Roberts, managing and creative director at Graduate Fashion Week. “Like Graduate Fashion Week, [Gap Inc] understands the importance of giving students a platform to create and showcase their talent.”

Gap Inc and its Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta brands will also sponsor the GFW Talk Space, which will host over 30 panel discussions, VIP interviews, advice masterclasses and workshops during the event.

The upcoming edition of Graduate Fashion Week will open on 2 June at the Old Truman Brewery in London.
