The Berlin-based personal shopping platform, Kisura, is readying its international debut. The women's service provider has heavily invested in technology in the past few months and is now set to test its business format internationally.

The startup’s founders, Tanja Bogumil and Linh Nguyen, are supported by the German Accelerator, an incubator that will provide them with guidance from April 2016 and the appropriate infrastructure to launch the business in the US.

“With Kisura and our new platform, we launched the concept Curated Shopping 2.0,” said Linh Nguyen. The virtual service goes one step further from traditional styling services, which are usually done live. “We can assist each customer on a flexible basis, completely independent of time and place,” she explains.

Kisura was chosen by a panel of international experts as one of six startups with the most innovative potential to be launched in April 2016 across the pond. Founded in May 2013 by the graduates from the Handelshochschule Leipzig, the bespoke styling company is now ripe for business in the US market. “In terms of turnover, the womenswear industry in the United States is three times larger than the German market,” says Nguyen.

The company currently employs 60 people and is backed by businessman Gary Lin, the Singaporean investment company Brilliant Heights, the Berlin-based investment bank IBB, and other business mavens. Founded in 2012 and launched in 2013, Kisura has already secured over 100,000 customers in Germany, and is profitable since 2014.
