“As part of our endeavour to constantly deliver value to members, GJEPC has collaborated with Ebay, to establish an exclusive and dedicated store for jewellery on Ebay,” said GJEPC chairman Colin Shah.

“This would be an opportunity for all jewellery manufacturers to list their products and showcase them to the already existing buyer base of Ebay.  The collaboration between Ebay, India and GJEPC is a step towards facilitating gem and jewellery exports through e-commerce platform and drive the vision of ‘Digital India’.”

Demand for gems and jewellery is picking up in all major export markets, according to Shah, so online sales offer a significant opportunity for business growth. With the tagline ‘Make in India for the World’, the Ebay store will give GJEPC-member jewellery businesses the opportunity to reach international markets. The platform will also provide market research and insight and local business development support.

The GJEPC signed a memorandum of understanding with Ebay in March this year for the linkup. As well as account management support by Ebay, the platform will feature seller incentive programmes, a free basic subscription for three months, and free Ebay product listings fir the UK, US, and Australia for six months.
