Gucci on Thursday launched the new GucciGhost collection, a collaboration between Creative Director Alessandro Michele and artist Trouble Andrew. The collection first debuted at the Gucci Fall 2016 runway show and arrived at the Gucci New York City flagship store in September.

GucciGhost is a full men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collection with shoes, handbags, small leather goods, silks, luggage and jewelry that feature graffiti-style motifs. A number of key pieces include the “Life is Gucci” sweatshirt, the leather goods featuring graffiti-style Gucci interlocking G’s and stars, and accessories featuring the word “Real”. The collection’s outerwear assortment for men and women take customization to the next level in the same way Michele has for the fashion house since he arrived.

Michele said, “Trouble Andrew is as much as Gucci as the brand is, the way he uses the logo of the company is by taking it to the streets, it is interesting how our language, started by a family in Florence nearly 100 years ago can be something very contemporary.”

Trouble Andrew, who grew up in Nova Scotia, is a big supporter of Gucci and bought his first Gucci piece at the age of 17. “I have collected Gucci and Gucci-inspired pieces for 15 years,” he said. “I was always influenced by the logo-heavy streetwear brands. Gucci was not a streetwear brand, but my love of logos made it the god of all brands to me. I was obsessed with their monogram and logo, and the fact that it seemed way out of my league. It was more than just a brand; it was a language to me. Gucci meant “greatness”.

Michele was introduced to Trouble Andrew’s work through photographer Ari Marcopoulos who shot Gucci’s pre-fall 2016 book project.

The GucciGhost collection is available now at Gucci stores nationwide and on the Gucci website.
