Guess heads to LA for holiday campaign

Guess has taken to the streets of downtown LA for its 2018 holiday campaign.

The fashion label has unveiled its seasonal ads, starring models Gwen Van Meir, Alexandria Hanson and Mitchell Wick and shot by the brand's Chief Creative Officer Paul Marciano. The trio are seen sporting pieces from the label's festive apparel collection, which includes classic dresses in lace, knit and faux-leather, faux fur jackets and jumpsuits, as well as more casual pieces such as oversized denim jackets, distressed jeans and cable knit sweaters. Footwear runs the gamut from faux-leather over-the-knee boots to glamorous, strappy stilettos.

The campaign also focuses on the label's timepieces, showcasing a range of watches with metal wrist bands and large chronograph faces in wintry black, white and blue colorways. Oversized glasses with silver and gold metal lanyards are also on show, as are convertible logo cross body bags and structured totes.

"I decided to shoot the holiday campaign in the streets of Los Angeles -- where GUESS began for me and my brother Maurice when we started the company in 1981," said Marciano in a statement. "The city was an inspiration for us then and it will always be our home. Inspiration today is bigger than ever in this city. The whole world is watching."

The campaign comes months after the label was hit by scandal, which saw Marciano resign in the wake of an investigation into sexual assault claims. Since then the brand has been focusing on environmental issues, announcing the launch of a circular fashion recycling program that will offer shoppers in-store discounts when they donate used clothing, as well as teaming up with the Los Angeles Football Club to provide custom suiting and fashion looks for its players.
