The location will stand at 31,000-square-feet and will offer the Swedish fashion company’s men’s and women’s collections and a children’s collection for newborns up to age eight. The Puerto Rico store will also house “store within a store” sections for accessories, lingerie and beauty.

“We are thrilled to be opening the first H&M location in Puerto Rico and bring our fashion to both the local community as well as visitors of this beautiful island. As a new market, we are also pleased to provide employment opportunities for local residents through our furthered expansion there,” says Daniel Kulle, President of H&M North America.

H&M has over 4,000 stores in 61 markets including franchise markets. The company opened its 4,000th store in April at Mall of India in New Delhi. Also in April, the Swedish retailer announced plans to open ten new stores in Mexico this year after opening eight in 2015.
