Haggar Clothing announced on Monday a new licensing agreement with Bernette Textile Company for men’s sweaters.

As per the partnership, Bernette owns the rights to design, produce and sell men’s sweaters in the US. The first collection will launch in fall 2017 at Haggar stores, on the Haggar website and at national retailers.

Michael Stitt, Chief Executive Officer of Haggar said, "As Haggar celebrates our 90th year, our partnership with Bernette Textiles further strengthens our product portfolio. Bernette's mission, vision and history align with ours, and both companies are committed to delivering the highest quality apparel, innovation and exceptional value for the consumer. We are excited to have Jeff Siskind and his team on board."

Founded in 1926, Haggar Clothing expanded from being a fine trousers and slacks provider to one of the most recognized apparel brands on the market. The company is the originator of “slacks”, coining the term in 1938.

Bernette Textile Company manufactures products under several owned brands, private label brands and prominent licensed brands including Coleman, The American Outdoorsman, US Polo Assn, Tricots St Raphael, and ArgyleCulture. Jack Siskind founded the third-generation company in 1942.
