HanesBrands enters multi-year partnership with National Park Foundation

HanesBrands has teamed up with the National Park Foundation (NPF) – the nonprofit associated with the National Park Service – to launch the first designs in an exclusive apparel collection which launches as part of a new five-year partnership between the group and the charity.

The collection is currently limited to t-shirts but HanesBrands plans to extend the NPF product to fleece sweatshirts and bottoms, socks, hats and other innerwear. The company will also expand the collection to its other brands which include its millennial-friendly heritage revival brand Champion, as well as Alternative and Gear for Sports.

“As the official apparel of the National Park Foundation, HanesBrands is focused on greatly expanding the distribution of NPF-affiliated apparel, raising the profile of the foundation, increasing revenue for the foundation, and using our [brands and] graphic apparel capabilities to create beautiful clothing worthy of the grandeur of our national parks,” said John Marsh, group president of global activewear for HanesBrands, in a release.

The HanesBrands NPF collection is the first apparel collection that features the US National Park Service's logo co-branded with issues designed to draw awareness to the National Parks. As part of the partnership, royalties income will go toward funding NPF's Centennial Campaign for America's National Parks.

“HanesBrands is on a mission to become the apparel industry’s leader in environmental stewardship and social responsibility,” said Marsh in a statement.

The launch collection celebrates Golden Gate, Sequoia, Zion and Rocky Mountain National Parks. Tees are priced at $12.99 and are available through all consumer retail channels including mass merchants and department stores, as well as online at Hanes and through partner retailer websites. The collection is also available through NPF's Find Your Park online store.

The licensed collection is forecast to raise $4 million to NPF.
