Hayley Elsaesser launches exclusive collection for Simons

Canadian designer Hayley Elsaesser has teamed up with Quebec-based retailer Simons for the launch of an exclusive collection.

The nine-piece collection, exclusively designed for Simons’ in-house brand Twik, includes dresses, wide-leg jeans, sweaters that stay true to Elsaesser’s design style with signature prints and a bold candy-coloured palette.
The collection theme was Canada-inspired with prints ranging from mountains, waves, and cowboy hats, including the Cowboy 8-Ball print, which is a remake of a previous print, and a large-scale geometric leopard print that ties everything together.
The use of materials like fleece is also a nod to Canadiana with some pieces interpreting a wetsuit look as recognition to the country's coastal regions.
“I was born in Vancouver and I love the mix of the natural elements of the ocean and the mountains, juxtaposed against a beautiful city. I think this represents Canada so well and was a major starting point for the collection. Of course, I had to do a typical HE twist on the prints, and make the colour palette sugary-sweet,” Elsaesser said in an interview with Simons.
Items are also more accessible than the Toronto-based designers’ own line with prices ranging from $39 to $69.
Elsaesser has previously teamed up with a range of brands and retailers. Most recently, she celebrated the 60th anniversary of Barbie with an exclusive collection of Barbie-inspired clothing with fellow Canadian designers at the Hudson's Bay. She has also collaborated with the likes of Nike, Taco Bell and launched a lipstick collection with Annabelle Cosmetics.
Likewise, Simons has long been a proud supporter of Canadian designers. Earlier this year, it launched its first private label designer collection with Montreal-based designer Marie-Eve Lecavalier and most recently with Markantoine for its in-house label Icone.
The Hayley Elsaesser X Twik collection is now available online at simons.ca and in-store.
