French luxury brand Hermès unveiled on Friday a new store in downtown Vancouver.
The 460 square-meter space replaces a former address located nearby, offering a full transformation of Hermès' presence in the Canadian city.
Located at 717 Burrard Street, the two-level space designed by the Parisian architecture agency RDAI, features a moulded concrete white terrazzo façade that reimagines the southwest corner of Burrard and West Georgia Streets.
Inside, customers can shop Hermès' line of luxury products by section in an airy ambiance. Just beyond the entrance, jewellery and watches can be found on one side, while fashion jewellery is located on the other, followed by the silk section and a perfume discovery area.
The leather section and the equestrian collection, can equally be found on the main floor, ahead of the men's area, which was given ample room towards the back.
Meanwhile, on the second level Hermès' home collection is introduced with its selection of homeware, tableware and wallpapers, alongside the women's area, including shoes and accessories, and a private salon.
"This beautiful new store reflects the longstanding relationship between Hermès and Vancouver, which is built on shared values and a deep appreciation for innovation," said Jennifer Carter, president and CEO of Hermès Canada, in a news statement.
"Nearly 25 years ago, we opened our first store in Vancouver, and today we're proud to unveil an enhanced retail experience that finds inspiration in the striking landscape, quality of living, and strength of spirit that defines Vancouver."
For the opening of the Vancouver flagship, Hermès created special products including roller skates that “celebrate the activity of the city”, as well as special Kelly bags and a limited-edition Twilly scarf.
Hermès first entered Canada in 1976. It currently operates two large flagships in the country, with one located in Toronto, and two concessions at Holt Renfrew stores in Calgary and Montreal.
