Holubar names new CEO, secures investment

Published
Nov 28, 2019

American outdoor brand Holubar has announced that Patrick Nebiolo, former managing director of Woolwich Inc., will join the company as CEO.

Holubar

The appointment comes after Holubar announced its relaunch in the United States earlier this year, through a partnership with Fashion Box USA -- a business accelerator launched by Nebiolo in 2019, which helps global apparel brands enter or expand operations in North America.

As CEO, Nebiolo will work with the brand’s current owner, entrepreneur Alberto Raengo, to lead the brand’s global development, distribution and rebuild brand awareness to new and existing markets. Raengo will become chief creative director.

In addition, Nebiolo and his partners will invest an undisclosed amount in the brand in order to grow Holubar’s product inventory and develop its omni-channel and customer experience strategies.

“I am delighted that Patrick Nebiolo and his partners have decided to join us in the path of growth, equipping the company with the resources necessary to make Holubar a reference player in the international outwear market,” said Raengo, who purchased the brand in 2012, previously owned by North Face.

“Holubar is one [of the] few American outdoor brands with real heritage,” said Nebiolo. "We're very proud to undertake this new adventure, passionately combining the current ownership in the development of the Holubar brand throughout the world.”

The brand, which rose to prominence when its mountain parka was worn by Robert De Niro in the 1978 film ‘The Deer Hunter,’ is sold in over 500 stores across Europe, the U.S., Canada, China, Korea and Japan.

In addition, the brand has a presence in high-end retailers like Hudson’s Bay and Simons in Canada.

The latest development comes after Holubar relaunched its e-commerce platform in October, the same month that the brand opened two pop-ups in New York. Looking forward, Holubar plans to open a concept store in New York in mid-December.
