HoodLamb brings 100% cruelty-free line to North America

Published
Oct 11, 2017

Dutch brand HoodLamb is bringing its 100% cruelty-free collection of outerwear and knits to North America this fall to meet the growing consumer demand for socially conscious design and sustainable apparel.

HoodLamb

HoodLamb by Hemp Tailors was founded in 1993 and derives its design inspiration from Amsterdam's counterculture. The brand is now officially expanding to North America this fall. US and Canadian customers will be able to purchase parkas, knits and cold weather accessories in select retail partners across the continent.

HoodLamb presents itself as a socially and environmentally conscious line of eco-friendly cold weather fashion alternatives. The company uses hemp for its durability and sustainability. The hemp is sourced from family run farms in Northern China. HoodLamb also uses a proprietary faux fur material made of ultra soft recycled PET.

In addition to sustainable shell materials, HoodLamb's line of insulated thermal parkas uses a duck-less down insulation called Thermore Ecodown. While down feathers are often plucked from live birds, the Ecodown comes from 100% recycled PET fibers from plastic bottles. The material is PETA approved vegan, soft and warm.

The entire HoodLamb collection has been classified as "PETA approved vegan" and a portion of proceeds from sales will go both to PETA and the environmental NGO Sea Shepherd to help them further their missions.

Women's parkas are priced starting at $330, sweaters just under $90 and logo tees just under $50. Men's parkas start at $370. The collection is now available at specialty retailers in the US and Canada, as well as HoodLamb's new US e-commerce site.
