Hudson Bay, H&M and Nordstrom in 2015’s Hot 100 Retailers list

Published
Aug 16, 2015

The annual Hot 100 Retailers list has been released in the August 2015 issue of Stores Magazine. It lists the fastest growing retail companies in the US.

Hudson's Bay

Hudson Bay Company tops the list with a year-on-year sales increase of 254% and sales over $5.1 billion in 2014, which stemmed from its acquisition of Saks Inc, Seattle-based daily deal site. Zulilly ranked third with a 73% sales increase to $1.1 billion. G-III Apparel Group was listed as number 4, and Men’s Wearhouse was number 9.

H&M, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Forever 21 and Nordstrom found themselves outside of the top ten in the 13th, 53rd, 58th and 78th places. “In addition to being close to their customers, it’s no surprise that many of the apparel specialists on the list are positioned to play at the ‘value-oriented’ end of the retail spectrum,” according to Mary Brett Whitfield, SVP at Kantar Retail. “Despite an improved economic picture, shoppers have not relinquished their quest for good deals.”

All public and private companies with over $300 million in sales were eligible for the list.
