Hugo Boss names new sales chief

Hugo Boss has named Oliver Timm as its new Chief Sales Officer (CSO) as of January 1 next year. It means he’ll assume global responsibility for the group's own retail operations as well as its wholesale and e-commerce businesses. Importantly too, he’s joining the firm’s managing board.

He’s had a strong management career in the fashion sector since 1998 having held various leadership positions at US fashion giant PVH.

They included MD for the German market from 2005 to 2014. In 2016, he became Chief Commercial Officer PVH Europe, which meant he was key in driving the commercial strategies across all distribution channels for the firm’s star Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein labels in the EMEA region.

Hugo Boss said “his main contributions include the expansion of key omnichannel strategies and the realisation of innovative digitalisation projects”.

Company chairman Hermann Waldemer said that Timm’s arrival will mean “our managing board is now complete. The depth and breadth of his expertise in retail, wholesale and e-commerce make him the perfect candidate for a position of this significance at Hugo Boss”.

With the line-up of the managing board now settled, the company also said the supervisory board and CEO Mark Langer have agreed that Langer will take up his consultative role earlier than planned this month and simultaneously vacate his seat on the managing board. As part of this process, his responsibilities are already being transferred to the remaining members of that board.
