ICA Miami x John Varvatos in-store charity event
Designer John Varvatos and The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Miami will hold a charity shopping event at his Bal Harbour store on March 31 from 7pm-10pm. The event is hosted by Miami locals Jack Benmeleh, David Herzberg, Alex Kushner and Daniel W. Schwartz.
Ten percent of sales at the John Varvatos Bal Harbor store during the event will benefit ICA Miami, an organization that promotes contemporary artists and supports ongoing dialogues about the exchange of art and ideas. In addition, art by Emmett Moore, a Miami-based artist, designer, and sculptor, will be on view.
John Varvatos launched his self-named label in 2000, and in July 2000 was awarded the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for promising new talent. Since then, he has won two CFDA awards for Menswear Designer of the Year in 2001 and 2005. Headquartered in New York City, Varvatos operates stores in Soho and the Bowery, among other locations.
