Iconix Brand posts a 7% increase in its revenue for 2014

Published
Mar 3, 2015

After a 7% growth in its revenue in 2014, Iconix Brand is expecting a 6% to 10% growth in 2015, notably thanks to the recent acquisition of Strawberry Shortcake and Pony. For its 2014 financial year, the American group recorded $461 million in revenue.

A specialist in brands under license, the group holds all or part of the rights of some thirty brands, including Umbro, Lee Cooper, Danskin, Badgley Mischka, Starter, Buffalo and Peanuts.

Iconix Brand recorded a 7% increase in its revenue in 2014 - Badgley Mischka

Its most substantial segment, womenswear, saw a 7% growth compared to 2013, amounting to $149 million. However, the menswear segment saw a negative trend, dropping 22% to $112 million. Its Home segment went up 7% to 44 million dollars, while its Entertainment segment, notably carried by Peanuts, jumped from 74 to 103 million dollars. The rest of its activities increased from 34 to 54 million dollars.

In 2014, the group notably became a majority shareholder in its European co-company, took back control of its Latin American branch, launched its Mossimo brand in Europe, and prepared the arrival of Lee Cooper in the United States.

The group saw its EBITDA stabilise at $264 million. However, its operating profit dropped from $58 to less than $50 million and its net income from $31 to $28 million.
