Indochino to open 20 stores in 2019

Canadian made-to-measure men’s apparel company Indochino has major expansion plans for 2019 that will include 20 store openings across North America.

The Vancouver-based company says its focus will be on retail growth on the East and West Coasts of the United States. 
To date, six showrooms are confirmed to open in the east, including in Brooklyn, Greenwich, Manhasset and Paramus in the Tri-State area, as well as a second Boston location and a fourth in the Greater Toronto Area. 
Meanwhile, five other locations are confirmed for the West Coast, with three in California — Roseville, San Diego and San Jose — plus Portland, Oregon, and Bellevue, Washington.
Its first new showroom will open in Brooklyn on Friday, followed by Portland on February 1. 
Indochino has been growing at an incredible rate, with a 43 percent year-over-year increase in sales expected in 2018. 
“2018 was an incredible year at Indochino as we doubled our retail network in North America and positioned ourselves at the forefront of direct-to-consumer brands, who are reimagining retail globally,” said Drew Green, President and CEO. 
“2019 is set to be another phenomenal year as we explore more new markets while profitably growing our existing markets, introduce consumers to exciting new custom products and push the boundaries of what it means to be a world-class retailer.”
The company ended 2018 with 38 showrooms and expects to grow by more than a third in 2019. It says it’s also exploring international expansion as it is experiencing sales outside North America with no marketing efforts.
The company is equally growing its product offering. In October, it announced a product expansion with the launch of business-casual pants and overcoats and is set to continue to grow beyond formalwear, with casual shirts that will launch in time for summer.
