Inter Parfums (fragrances for Lanvin, Jimmy Choo and Repetto) just got a stronger foothold in China. Through its new subsidiary based in Hong Kong, Inter Parfums USA Hong Kong, the fragrance company has signed a worldwide licensing agreement for twelve years to create, produce and distribute fragrances and beauty products for the Chinese luxury brand Shanghai Tang. Founded in 1994, Shanghai Tang now has a worldwide network of 45 stores, offering high-end apparel and accessories for men, women and children as well as a home line.

“China is a strategic priority for Inter Parfums,” said Jean Madar, the company’s CEO. “And, as this is an important new relationship for us, we have established a new subsidiary in Hong Kong, Inter Parfums USA Hong Kong Limited, to manage the global operations of the Shanghai Tang brand. We believe that Shanghai Tang is a truly unique brand with exceptional potential to become a global beauty brand,” she said. Inter Parfums is now likely to sign more deals with Chinese beauty brands in the future.
