For its first quarter 2015, Interparfums posted revenue of 77.2 million euros, up 3.1% at a constant exchange rate, boosted by the positive effect of the drop of the euros compared to the dollar.

However, at a constant exchange rate, sales by the perfume manufacturer and distributor under license (Montblanc, Jimmy Choo...) are down by 6.4%. A drop attributed to an unfavourable comparison basis tied to the launch of Karl Lagerfeld fragrances in the first quarter of 2014.

For the period, Montblanc remains the leader of the group, with 24 million euros in sales, up 19%. Jimmy Choo fragrances climbed 50% to 19.2 million euros, carried by the good results in the United States and the launch of the Blossom line.

Interparfums, which recently purchased Rochas from Procter & Gamble and the license from American brand Coach, also indicated that the Rochas acquisition should be finalised before the summer and that it shouldn't have a significant impact on the sales numbers. The group is thus maintaining its forecasts and counting on sales between 310 at 320 million euros in 2015.

Finally, Philippe Benacin, the CEO of Interparfums, told Reuters that there are no plans to make further acquisitions in the medium-term. A declaration that seems to contradict certain rumours of a new contract rather imminently. The question is whether this regards a license or an acquisition...
